I love reading this panel while trying to plan our 1st Disney trip in November, 2015 with my husband and 2 boys, 7 & 5 years old. They still like Mickey but definitely like the action characters much more. What are the best Character Experiences?

Hi, Tiffany! We are so glad we are here to help while you plan your magical family vacation! I am so excited for your first visit!

I am also a 'boy mom' so I know exactly which character meetings will be a hit with your little guys. Aside from Mickey and his gang, here are my boys' favorite characters to visit with during our Walt Disney World family vacations.

    Magic Kingdom Park
Meet Toy Story Friends near Splash Mountain
    Meet Merida at Fairytale Garden
(The boys say even though Merida is a girl, she has a bow. She is OK.)
    Meet Gaston near His Tavern
    #INCREDIBLESSuperDanceParty

    Epcot
Meet More Disney Pals near Epcot Character Spot
(Different characters can be seen here daily.)
    Meet Mulan in China
(Again, Mulan is one of the 'cool' girls.)

    Disney's Hollywood Studios
Meet Mike & Sulley near Streets of America
Meet Phineas and Ferb near Streets of America
Meet The Incredibles at The Magic of Disney Animation
Also, take a look at one of my previous answers about how to participate in the Jedi Training Academy.

When you enter one of the Parks, be sure to get a Times Guide to see what times the characters  boys would like to see are available. We have also stumbled upon Stitch and Captain Hook who  not on the schedules - so keep a look out! When meeting the characters, encourage your children to interact with them. If they are shy, you can ask the characters questions to get your princes involved. It does seem strange at first, but just act like a kid and your kids will follow right along!

Wishing you and your family a magical vacation, Tiffani!

Meet the Panelist: Rachel, Wisconsin

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
