Hi there Jonny, and a very Royal welcome to planDisney!
I'm so glad that you've popped by to ask me this question; as someone who celebrated an engagement at Walt Disney World Resort, I know a thing or two about putting together the perfect proposal that is sure to become a core memory for you both! On certain holidays like the Fourth of July there are
extra special fireworks in celebration of Independence Day - often held at
EPCOT and
Magic Kingdom Park.
There are two major components to being able to pull off a perfect Fireworks proposal on a major holiday:
The Location and
Capturing it on Camera.
- The spike in attendance that often comes around holidays may definitely make it a bit more hectic if you encounter the crowds within the Theme Parks themselves - you definitely wouldn't want to lose the ring in the shuffle! Instead, I suggest booking a Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace or a Celebration at the Top overlooking Cinderella Castle and watching the Fireworks from above at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Both of these options provide you with the chance to sit down and enjoy a birthday meal or treats, while allowing you to collect yourself before popping the question. (These are however, just the current offerings and are subject to change with the new nighttime spectaculars debuting before the summertime.) Alternatively, you may also experience some great Fireworks atop resort rooftop restaurants Topolino's Terrace and Toledo.
- At the present moment, Disney PhotoPass photographer Cast Members are unavailable to book during Fireworks and nighttime spectaculars. While this may change in the future, they currently offer Capture Your Moment sessions that take place inside the Theme Parks during the morning and early afternoon as a way to professionally capture special events like engagements! For our engagement, we were fortunate to have a friend take photos and videos for us - but if you're at a restaurant, I suggest asking the friendly Cast Members in advance to see whether they'd be able to snap some shots as you propose!
I highly recommend reaching out to the
Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Team; they can let you know what the pricing may be like for these
Enchanting Extras and it's worth seeing whether they may be able to offer any additional suggestions to help coordinate your plans!
Please come back to
ask me any other questions about proposal ideas, as well as any planning tips if you're both considering your own Disney Fairy Tale Wedding - I'm always eager to help future Disney couples have their own Happily Ever After!
Wishing you the best in your quest to pop the question,
Prince
