We just love POR, but are considering CBR for next trip (family of 5) as they have added the Murphy beds. I adore POR, & worry I'll be disappointed. Can you help sell me on fabulousness of CBR? Is it true illuminations can be enjoyed with feet in the s

    Hi Megan!

Congratulations on your upcoming Disney vacation.  It is wonderful to hear you will be visiting the magic so soon. One of our favorite things to do on each trip is to pick a new resort to stay at.  In fact, it's my personal goal to stay at all of them!  Even though I have stayed at several, my family always returns to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort at least a few nights on every trip.  I really don't feel like there is much to sell, the resort is just beautiful.  My kids love it because of the Fuentes Del Morro pool area, I love the island vibe and the sound of steel drums and palm trees swaying in the wind and my hubby loves the food court at Old Port Royale. The resort has also gone through some pretty wonderful renovations lately, including the room upgrades and the new play area and benches on Caribbean Cay, the island in the middle of the resort. Also, you have heard correctly and you are able to see most of the mid-air fireworks from Epcot's IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. On early nights we get the little ones ready for bed and walk out to the beach, a bench, or a hammock to sit and watch the show. It is the perfect bedtime finale. The main complaints I read from those not fond of the resort are because of its size and transportation issues. In all the times we have stayed, I have never encountered any transportation issues any worse than any other resort. As far as the size of the resort, it is rather large, but I enjoy that fact and I feel like it definitely adds to the tranquility. Even at full capacity you feel like you are enjoying a secluded island getaway. We do tend to splurge on a preferred room, but even without one you can request an ideal location. I hope I have eased any of your concerns, but please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren
