Hi Amanda,
I'm so glad that you are finding the Disney Parks Moms Panel to be helpful! We visited Walt Disney World for my daughter's seventh birthday, and had a cake in the shape of Minnie Mouse's head delivered to our resort. It was delicious. Even though there are three of us in our family, we ordered a cake big enough for eight servings and ate it all week long! To order a cake, call the Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253. They will help you through the process of ordering a cake, including choosing flavors and decorations. For information on how this works, go to disneyfoodblog.com and search for "cake."
I suggest getting the birthday button for your daughter on her birthday. These are available at Guest Relations at any of the theme parks and are free of charge. They can even write your daughter's name on it if you like. As your daughter walks around on her birthday, it is absolutely magical to hear cast members and other guests wishing her a happy birthday! You may also receive little surprises if she wears the birthday button. My daughter received an extra special birthday cupcake at The Plaza Restaurant while wearing the birthday button. She was absolutely thrilled with the colorful mountain of frosting! You should not expect special treats, but they may occur. Likewise, when making dining reservations for the day of your daughter's birthday, be sure to indicate on the reservation that you are celebrating. Again, don't expect anything special, but it might happen!
Finally, you can contact
Disney Floral and Gifts at 407-WDW-GIFT (407-939-4438) or visit them online. They can create amazing custom gifts for delivery. We had a Minnie Mouse stuffed animal holding a bouquet of balloons delivered to our daughter on her birthday. It was adorable.
Have a wonderful celebration, Amanda! Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
