Love Panel!DD5 and I currently have res. at POFQ for 11-30 to 12-7.Thinking of buying myself a XMas present and staying last 2/3 nites at a deluxe.Stayed at Poly last yr & would like to try somewhere different.Any suggestions? Is it worth the xtra hassl

I think the Port Orleans French Quarter will work well for you and your daughter. It's a small, charming resort with a whimsical pool. The boat transportation to Downtown Disney is very pleasant.

I've always enjoyed resort hopping. Staying at more than one hotel per WDW visit has given our family the chance to have so many different experiences. Transferring is easy and you can have Bell Services transfer your luggage. The only year it was a hassle was when I wasn't feeling well. We were checking out of the Grand Floridian and in to the Wilderness Lodge. We simply called ahead to the Wilderness Lodge prior to vacation our GF room to inquire if a room would be ready upon our arrival. I really needed a place to rest after being so ill. Sure enough, they were able to get us in a room right away even though official check in time was later in the day. Of course, it was the slower season so rooms were plentiful.

If you are thinking of treating yourself, you may want to splurge for the Grand Floridian. It's a beautiful resort but at Christmas time, it is decorated in its holiday finest. Your daughter would feel like a true princess and the pool area is fabulous. Even on a rainy day, the GF lifeguards had set up in a dry area some Wiis to entertain the kids. As soon as you enter the GF, you'll smell the gingerbread house!

For a deluxe hotel without the price tag of the GF, I would go for the Wilderness Lodge. This is a stunning hotel, especially when its majestic tree greets guests at Christmas time.

I hope your holiday gift is truly memorable!
