Love the Panel! Trying to plan a Grand Gathering for a large family vacation and cannot decide whether the 3rd full week of December 2011 or the 3rd full week of June 2012 would be better. Some insight as to crowds, temps, prices, etc please?

    Hi Christen!
Let me see if I can help the process. First off, Grand Gatherings at ANY time are a fabulous way to spend time together, especially at Walt Disney World!! As to dates, let me just say that, personally, I would choose December 99.99 times out of 100. I love how the parks and resorts are decorated so festively for the holidays!! It really is beautiful. In addition, although the weather can be a bit unpredictable (cool, rainy day followed by a sunny day in the 80s), I find December's weather to be very comfortable (keep in mind that I'm from the Northeast, however). Also, crowd levels between Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas are traditionally the lightest of the entire year! And finally, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is not to be missed.
I intentionally left out any mention/comparison of deals on pricing because it is hard to predict when/if Disney will offer any sort of promotions. That said, based on crowd levels, activities, and weather, December is my recommendation.
I wish you and your family a Magical trip, whenever it takes place!! :)
