Love the panel! We will be traveling (driving from ohio!) in Sept 09 (4 nights/5days) and probably purchasing the Deluxe DDP, We are both pretty good eaters and I need to eat reguarly due to type II diabetes medication. Is the Deluxe DDP worth the extra?

Whether or not the deluxe dining plan is worth the extra expense completely depends upon the traveling party, and their preferences.  My family happens to be made up of a group of healthy eaters as well, and we tend to be a bit picky to boot.  We aren't the kind of people who enjoy fast food, or quick-service food (it's theme park counterpart).  That said, the deluxe dining plan is well worth the expense for us because not only does it include three meal credits per day (to be used at either quick-service or table-service locations) but it also affords us with two snacks per person, per day as well.  If you ask me, it's tough to beat that.  Again, we thoroughly enjoy the dining aspect of vacation and tend to focus much of our itinerary planning around the restaurants we want to try.  We also tend to take fairly long vacations so we don't sacrifice our theme park time in the restaurants.  Because your trip is on the shorter side, you may find that taking the time to use all of those meal and snack credits really eats away (pun intended) at your touring time.  Perhaps you'd be better suited foregoing the deluxe dining plan this time and bringing along a few snacks to accommodate your dietary needs.  If, on the other hand, you don't mind sacrificing a bit of your theme park exploration to dining, then by all means, go deluxe.

Sheesh.  A lot of help I am huh?  You'd have been given a more definitive answer by flipping a coin.  It just really is a matter of personal preference.  Hopefully I've given you some food for thought (ha!  I'm cracking myself up here!).  Good luck with your decision.

Meet the Panelist: Darcie, Alabama

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
