Howdy Tina! You are the ultimate Padawan Mom! Your plan is perfect! Do exactly as you have outlined. Get to Disney's Hollywood Studios early. As soon as the theme park opens, proceed immediately to the queue outside the ABC Sound Studio to sign up for Jedi Training Academy. Make sure your son is with you in line as a Cast Member will need to ask him some questions to ensure he will be able to follow instructions. This is nothing to be concerned about. My currently 4 year old son fought the Dark Side last May without issue.
Spots do fill up quickly. Regardless of the time you arrive, you may end up with an afternoon session. Plan to spend the day at Disney's Hollywood Studios if needed. (Don't schedule a dining reservation outside the theme park for the afternoon just to be on the safe side.) After he is signed up, you can go enjoy your breakfast. It's a great plan!!!
If, for some reason, you are not able to secure a spot in a training session, get a list of the times and go to each session. If another Junior Jedi Knight is unable to make it, your son may be able to secure a spot that way. We will think happy thoughts though and given that you have a plan set, you should be able to secure a spot for him that morning.
A PhotoPass Photographer will be taking pictures throughout the training academy so you might consider purchasing a PhotoPass CD (or even better,
PhotoPass+) prior to your vacation. You are welcome to take your own photos and video as well.
I don't know who will be more excited when the day comes, you or your son! The Jedi Training Academy has been added to our must do list. Your son is going to love every moment!!!
Thanks so much for your question and please let me know if you need any further information. Have a magical day....and may the Force be with you!!! (It had to be said!)
