Hello, Tim,
Thank you for the nice thoughts and congratulations on your upcoming 30 wedding anniversary! At
Disney's Contemporary Resort, I love the ease of being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom, especially when the parks are crowded. It is a great perk of the resort along with the monorail. And in all honesty, all the rooms in the tower are not far from the lobby and monorail after a short elevator ride. If you are in a theme park view, you might want a higher room so that you have better views. If you want to look at a map of the resort and the views from the rooms, touringplans.com shares this information; just search
View of Disney's Contemporary Resort. Since you will be visiting in December, I have to admit I'm partial to
Disney's Wilderness Lodge at this time; it is so cozy and filled with holiday cheer. With its grand lobby and soaring Christmas tree, it offers more for me than the Contemporary Resort during this time. It is a perfect time of year to sit in front of one of the fireplaces at the resort and relax. You will, however, have smaller rooms at 344 sq. feet while the Contemporary has rooms that are 394 sq feet. I did a quick search on YouTube and found videos of the holiday decorations of both resorts that you may find helpful to get an idea of what to expect and which best matches your preferences and tastes.
I hope this helps with your planning; please let us know if we can help with further questions.
Wishing you a pixie-dusted anniversary celebration!
