I love Mom's panel!! I am planning a trip with my husband & daughter in Sept. I can't wait! We are staying in the cabins at Fort Wilderness, and I am wondering if there is a general store in the wilderness area where you can purchase fresh fruits?

Your question is right up my alley as our family loves Fort Wilderness and has stayed there many times!

No stay at the Fort would be complete without a trek to the Meadows Trading Post!  It's right in the middle of the campground--a pleasant 5- to 10-minute relatively flat stroll from the cabins depending on which loop you're in.  There is a second "general store" on the opposite side of the Fort from the cabins: The Settlement Trading Post, near Pioneer Hall and the pier.  It carries similar items to the Meadows, but not as good a selection!

But don't just shop and run.  Sit down a spell and play a game of checkers on their oversized checkers set!  (There's also WiFi on the backporch of the Meadows....)

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
