I love Moms Panel! We are planning on spending the day in Animal Kingdom and cannot decide if we should eat dinner at Tusker House or House of Blues in DTD. How would we get to DTD? Which is a better for kids (8 with food allergies & 10)?

    HI Elise,

My family loves eating at Tusker House.  Lunch and dinner is a buffet with plenty of options even for picky eaters such as my kids.  They have a separate area for children with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, corn dog nuggets, chicken drumsticks, green bean, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes.  The entrees also are a spiced tofu, carved beef top sirloin roast, rotisserie chicken, salmon filet and a seafood stew.  They have plenty of breads, salad, vegetables, and yummy desserts. I am not certain of what the type of food allergies that your son has, but he certainly will be able to eat something at Tusker House.   The House of Blues is also a fantastic restaurant.  It has more of a New Orleans feel to it and has individual meals to order.  The food is a bit more spicy, but they do have a kids meal with pizza, chicken tenders, hot dog, burgers, and macaroni and cheese.  The House of Blues is in Downtown Disney, and you will need to catch the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge and then transfer to the bus for Downtown Disney and get off on the West Side.  There are no direct buses from the theme parks to Downtown Disney.  I think both options are great, but I would lean towards Tusker House just because it is easier especially after a full day at the park!  Have a wonderful meal!
