I LOVE this panel!! We are looking to book a room (2 Adults and 3 Kids: 5 & 2yr old twins) All the room info says is max. 4 people plus 1child under three in a crib. Does that mean we have to find a 5 person room? What mod. hotel would u recommend?

    Hi Melanie,

You have exactly the same family configuration I do: an older child with twins three years younger. It does get easier, I promise :-)

As far as your vacation goes, you could stay at any of the value or moderate resorts in the set-up you list -- putting one of the twins in the Disney-provided Pack 'n Play. I have to tell you that in my house, this would have caused a few problems. At age two, my twins were out of the crib and going back in the Pack 'n Play would have been torture. The nightly fight would have been monumental. The other side of the coin is if your twins ARE still both in the crib. That "one child under the age of three" language has to do with fire safety regulations. I have heard of cast members allowing more than one crib in a room, but my understanding is that they're not supposed to. And, believe me, with all the stuff that goes along with three little kids, you'd have a pretty tight squeeze. Two cribs and two strollers in one room would be quite the challenge, even if they did let you do it.

I do have some alternatives for you. There are "family suites" at the All Star Music resort. This is an expanded room set-up that can comfortably sleep up to six people. It also includes a small kitchenette which is great for serving a quick in-room breakfast to the kiddos. Another choice would be a trundle-bed room. There are a few rooms like this at Port Orleans Riverside. This is the only moderate resort that has regular rooms that can sleep five without one in the crib. There are also many types of rooms that sleep five in the villa and deluxe categories.

If you do want to try a moderate with the crib in the room, my favorite is Port Orleans French Quarter, but I've also been hearing great things about the Caribbean Beach resort. All that sand could be great fun for your kids.
