Love The Mom's Panel!!! I'm surprising my children (2 and 12) with a trip to Disney World on Feb 17-22. Can you please tell me what kind of weather and crowd levels to expect? And what Value Resort do you think is the best? Thanks So Much!!

Best surprise ever! Jessica, you are a serious contender for mom of the year.

Warm days with highs in the low 70s perfect for park hopping are typical in mid-February. Nights tend to be cooler so pack a jacket for cool evenings and early mornings in the 50s. Throw swimsuits into your bag because the pools are heated.

Families flock to Walt Disney World when schools are closed. Since you are visiting during a holiday weekend expect some crowds. My family spent Presidents Day weekend last year at Walt Disney World, however, and did not encounter any problems with excessive lines. We were even able to snag a reservation at the popular Le Cellier Steakhouse only a few weeks before we arrived.

Disney's Art of Animation Resort would be my top choice for a value resort. Shiny new, bold, whimsical, and excellently themed this resort boasts an innovative food court, the Big Blue Pool, and large family suites. If you want a slightly more economical option, consider Disney's Pop Century Resort. With three pools and blast from the past theming, this hotel is a great choice for families. This resort also typically ha dedicated buses and tends to host fewer large groups than Disney's All-Star Resorts.

Many thanks for your kind words. We love guests who ask us questions. Please contact me if you want any additional information to help with your planning. Your kids are going to be blown away by their surprise visit to see Mickey!
