Hi Nykie, you must be thrilled that your exciting trip is just around the corner. It'll be here before you can say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"!
I'd be happy to offer my opinions and suggestions when it comes to the child care centers in the resorts. On my recent trip to Walt Disney World in June, my husband and I planned an evening in Epcot and enjoy a nice kid-free dinner and Illuminations afterwards. We were staying at Disney's Beach Club Resort and my older two kids went to the Sandcastle Club. My youngest was too young for the children's activity centers, so we had an in-room sitter for him.
The children's activity centers are all very similar in nature with arts and crafts, movies, and video games. Dinner is also included in the price of the visit. My kids had a great time. In fact, when we arrived, my daughter didn't want to leave.
There are five locations to choose from:
- Sandcastle Club at Disney's Beach Club Resort
- Cub's Den at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
- Never Land Club at Disney's Polynesian Resort
- Simba's Clubhouse at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Camp Dolphin at Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel
They are open daily from 4pm-midnight, with exception to the Dolphin Club which opens at 5:30pm and the Never Land Club which opens at 4pm. Reservations are recommended by calling (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463). They will accept walk-ins if space is available. I have only ever used the Sandcastle Club, but have heard wonderful things about all of them. They are clean, well-staffed, and based on my kids' reports, tons of fun! Children must be at least 3-12 years old and potty-trained (pull-ups are not allowed). There is also a 2-hour minimum. Parents must sign their children in and out of the facility and safety is of the utmost priority.
I hope you and your husband have a magical evening out, just the two of you!
