Love this panel! Hoping you can help me. Making plans for a large family trip, including a 2yr old who loves to eat. Worried he won't be happy to share off others' plates. Can I pay for him to have the DDP? Or will I have to pay for his meals separately?

    Hi Alaine,

You can't put your 2 year old on the dining plan.  However, it is easy enough to order his meal separately and pay for it.  Honestly child's meals are fairly inexpensive, and you may not even need to order a separate meal that many times, especially if you dine at character meals or restaurants that serve family style.

At any restaurant with a buffet, your child will be able to eat for free.  Similarly, if you dine at Whispering Canyon Cafe, 'Ohana, or any other restaurant that serves family style meals, your little one will have quite a selection to choose from.

On our last vacation with a two year old, I think we only ended up purchasing an extra meal 2 times during the week.  It may have been a $12 total out of pocket expense.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
