Bethany:
Sounds like a good plan!
You didn't mention where you were staying or the ages of your children, but our family just got back from a trip to Disney and LOVED
Chef Mickey's for breakfast: Mickey waffles, pancakes, turkey breakfast casserole, sausage gravy and biscuits, donuts, hash, bacon...there's wasn't a breakfast item missing, well, except for the Southern favorite: grits.
Now, I have to be honest. Getting a reservation won't be easy at Chef Mickey's, as it is one of the most popular restaurants on property. BUT, I would suggest putting Disney Dining's number (407-939-3463) in your cell phone and calling whenever the thought crosses your mind as reservations are canceled all the time.
Another place to consider so you won't feel so rushed: T-Rex, which is at Downtown Disney, for an early lunch. This was our family's favorite meal of the trip. My husband actually mentioned how surprised he was in the superior food quality. The chicken and balsamic flatbread appetizer was to die for along with their blackened fish tacos and mushroom ravioli. The beef ribs melted off the bone. Not only was the food fabulous, but the restaurant itself was fun. Yes, it's not a Character Meal a fun experience, nonetheless. It had been recommended to us that we eat in the Glacier Room to see the meteor shower, but it was a little dark and your eyes need adjusting to the different colors all the time. You can still enjoy that room from any of the others. We'll definitely be back and next time we'll just take any seat, as there are several animatronic dinosaurs in every room.
Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
