Hi! Love the panel 2 more ?. We decided to upgrade to CBR from POP Hurray! What buildings do you recommend (standard rooms)? And am a bit concerned: I read that there are alligators and turtles in the lake, is it true? You are great!

    Hi Maria!

Thanks for coming to the Moms Panel with your planning questions. I'm glad you have found us helpful!

The Caribbean Beach resort is beautiful - you've made a great choice! Since you don't have a preferred room, you will have a slightly longer walk to get to Old Port Royale where the food court and main pool are located. However, there are definitely some non-preferred areas that are much closer than others!

I would recommend requesting a room in the Jamaica island as your first choice. Specifically, building number 45. This building is closest to the bridge that leads to Old Port Royale. As a second choice, I would request the island of Aruba and building 51. While you're making requests, you may want to consider asking for a first floor room because there are no elevators at this resort. I'm not sure if you'll be using a stroller, but if so a room on the second floor could be a hassle!

As for the reports of various wildlife in the lake - there is definitely a possibility that alligators and turtles may wind up in the lake. Florida is a natural habitat for these types of animals, and while Disney does it's best to keep unwanted "guests" out of the water at the resorts, sometimes they still find their way in. This is one reason that swimming is not permitted in the lakes at WDW. The best thing to do is to always stay on the sidewalks and marked pathways and never go into the lake. If you happen to see a gator, let one of the castmembers know and they will take appropriate action to redirect him or her to a more suitable habitat.

I hope this helps! Enjoy your vacation!
