Hi, love the panel! Better to stay at POR or splurge for BC? Dining choices? Want to be able to walk if we can to cut travel time to parks. Planning on not going to a park every day so we would like a nice pool to enjoy.

It's really tough to give budgetary advice as far as what's worth the splurge, but based on the criteria you mentioned, it sounds as though a stay at the Beach Club would better suit your vacation preferences.  I have stayed at both of these resorts and, while I thoroughly enjoyed each, the Beach Club does offer far more variety in dining choices.  Not only can you choose to dine at either of the Beach Club's table-service restaurants, but you can also take the short walk to any of the Boardwalk Resort restaurants.  And if those don't suit your tastes, the many cultural dining experiences available in Epcot's World Showcase are mere minutes away.  I can tell you from experience that the Beach Club offers great proximity to a huge variety of dining choices.

When it comes to pools, Stormalong Bay at the Beach Club is, hands-down, the best pool on property.  My favorite part about it was that if offered something for every member of the family, from my cautious toddler to my far more adventurous teenage daughter.  We happily spent multiple afternoons playing poolside and wished we had more time to enjoy it.

Like I said, it's really hard to give advice as to how best to spend your vacation dollar, but I can say that a stay at the Beach Club offers amenities that align more closely with your preferences than those of Port Orleans Riverside.  Good luck with your decision!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
