Hey Merlyn!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited about your upcoming trip! It's so close and sure to be a very magical time.
'Ohana is as you know a very popular reservation and can be hard to get. If you really want to experience this, I suggest continuing to look for a reservation.
People can cancel now up to two hours before a reservation with no penalty so you can score something last minute.
Now, if you don't want the stress of securing anything last minute and are willing to try something a little different I have some ideas.
Many people don't know that
Tambu Lounge has a secret menu that features many of the foods that you may have enjoyed at 'Ohana. Located just outside of 'Ohana this bar has all the Polynesian vibes you are looking for. This
menu is not available till after 4 pm and some items may not be available but you can have a nice drink (I suggest the Lapu Lapu served in a fresh pineapple) along with dumplings, noodles, and delicious chicken wings! You may also score some bread pudding!
Another option is
Kona Cafe which requires a reservation but is usually much easier to obtain. Kona Cafe is also located at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and is a gem! The
menu has dumplings, noodles, and a Pineapple-Coconut Bread Pudding. I have eaten at Kona Cafe before and loved it!
Now, for some more daring alternatives, I want you to consider
Sebastian's Bistro at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen. Sebastian's Bistro at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is an all-you-care-to-eat
family-style feast with Buttery House-baked Pull-apart Rolls with Guava Butter and Caramelized Onion Jam and a Coconut-Pineapple Bread Pudding. Bread, butter, and more bread! Nothing better! Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is one of my favorite restaurants and it has some exciting
menu items. It's located right in Magic Kingdom and my whole family loves it. My picky-eater son loves Chef Tandaji's Crispy Chicken! There is also a secret menu here as well! Ask if they have the Pão de Queijo, also called Brazilian Cheese Bread. It comes with a delicious chimichurri sauce that I am obsessed with.
I hope this helps and that you find another favorite restaurant!
Let me know if you need any more help as I am glad to be of magical assistance!
