Love your mom panel! We are staying at Wilderness Lodge and would like an easy way to get to the other resorts for dining and etc especially to Contemporary Resort for Chef Mickey breakfast before heading to MK. Any suggestions?

    Hi Amy,

Thank you for the compliment on the Moms Panel.  I absolutely love the Wilderness Lodge.  It is my favorite resort at Walt Disney World.  It is a fabulous place to stay for the whole family.  Be sure to try out the Whispering Canyon Cafe.  It is a lot of fun!

It is very easy to get to the Contemporary Resort via a boat that goes between the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness.  For your breakfast at Chef Mickey's, just head down to the boat dock and catch the boat going to the Contemporary.  After breakfast, you can catch the monorail from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom (MK), and then at the end of your day, catch the boat from the MK to the Wilderness Lodge.

Because it is so easy to get to the Contemporary Resort, it is also relatively easy to get to the other Magic Kingdom resorts via the Contemporary Resort's monorail station.  Just add it in the extra time to take the boat from the Wilderness Lodge.

I also highly recommend Trail's End for dinner at Fort Wilderness.  The food is great and the prices make it one of the best bargains at Walt Disney World.  As I mentioned before it is very easy to get to this restaurant via the boat from the Wilderness Lodge.  Trail's End is a very short walk from the Fort Wilderness boat dock.

To get to other resorts, you can take a bus to a central location such as a theme park or Downtown Disney.  However, as you can imagine that can take some time.  A much quicker option is to take a taxi from the Wilderness Lodge to the resort you need to go to.  I have found it to be fairly inexpensive and quick to take a taxi anywhere on Disney property.

Enjoy planning your vacation and write back if you have any more questions!
