Hi, Sasha!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for your question. I also have a sweet tooth and enjoy ice cream desserts during every visit to the Disneyland Resort!
My go-to spot when I’m craving a sweet treat in Disney California Adventure Park is the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop. My dessert of choice is The Gold Rush, a sundae with fresh hot fudge and melted peanut butter. Your kids might enjoy The Cable Car, a rocky road sundae with creamy marshmallow topping that’s finished off with a cherry and Ghirardelli Squares milk chocolate. Another great choice for kids is a Hand-Dipped Ice Cream Bar from Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream. You start by choosing an ice cream flavor (vanilla bean, chocolate or berry sorbet) and then select your dip (dark or milk chocolate). The topping selections include chocolate chips, confetti Mickeys, rainbow sprinkles and blue raspberry bursts. To try a mix of all the toppings, order “The Whole Herd!”
In Disneyland Park, Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor is a good place to get your sugar fix. I like the Chocolate Chip Cookie Hot Fudge Sundae. It has two scoops of vanilla ice cream and two freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, topped with hot fudge. Your kids can get a classic root beer float, or switch it up and try a Coca-Cola or Fanta Orange float! Another favorite I have to mention (even though it’s not technically ice cream) is the pineapple-flavored Dole Whip, a dairy-free soft-serve frozen dessert that’s become a mainstay of Adventureland at the Tiki Juice Bar! My favorite is the Dole Whip Float, a generous helping of Dole Whip served atop pineapple juice…delicious and refreshing!
I hope this helps, Sasha, and that you have a wonderfully pixie-dusted visit to the Disneyland Resort. Please write back with more questions as your planning continues!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
