Love the great info you share! Staying at AKL 11/2-8, I've read online that Disney buses take 45 mins to parks - seems like a lot of wasted time. Are we better off renting a car to drive to the parks? Is that a quicker way to start the fun? Thank you!

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks for coming back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with another question.  Like you, I love to maximize my "Disney Time" and can't wait for the fun to begin.  Disney offers complimentary transportation to and from every resort and each Theme Park, and the travel time does depend largely on the wait times.  Traveling from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge will take roughly 15 - 20 minutes, depending on traffic and which Theme Park you are traveling to.  Magic Kingdom is the furthest from your resort, while Animal Kingdom is the closest.  Once you factor in wait times for your bus, travel time will be around 45 minutes.
Although this seems like a long time, I do believe that it is still your best option.  First of all, it is Complimentary.  You will not have any added transportation costs during your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation.  Second, but the time you actually drive to your chosen Theme Park, park the car and then either wait for the tram or walk to the front gates, the timing is pretty much the same, sometimes even longer than if you had taken the bus.  Personally, I would save some money, sit back and enjoy Disney's complimentary transportation.

I hope you have a magical time on your upcoming Walt Disney World Vacation Michelle.  Please come back and visit us again if you have any other questions!
