Bonjour Clement, and welcome to planDisney!
There is something really wonderful about solo adventuring, and I spent many years heading to different
Disney Destinations on my own while learning how to really enjoy the experience of seeing the world at my own pace. If you think about it, many of our beloved Disney stories begin with a character taking on a journey on their own, and you might even notice Cast Members and Walt Disney Imagineers doing research on their own solo trips to the theme parks or on the cruise ships! At the current time there aren't any single or solo rates offered to guests at neither Walt Disney World Resort nor Disney Cruise Line (especially when
rooms are priced at double-occupancy), but here are a few tips I have to help you possibly save in other ways:
- The first place to check is the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page on the Walt Disney World Resort website, as well as the Special Offers specific to Disney Cruise Line that get updated throughout the year. There could be some serious savings that can apply depending on where you live or have residency, or if you plan around less popular times of the year. (It's important to note that these offers may or may not be visible to you depending on whether you're accessing them from within the United States or from another country, like France.)
- When it comes to choosing voyages on Disney Cruise Line, selecting longer itineraries from distant home ports further from Orlando like crossing the Panama Canal or a Transatlantic voyage. I’ve also found that selecting one of the older ships like the Disney Magic or the Disney Wonder can result in some lower costs overall per night! The added bonus is that these diverse itineraries have often tended to have fewer children and more fellow Disney adults on board in my experience, which is great if you’re looking to make friends and take part in some of the programming on board that might be better suited for other singles and solos to be involved in.
I’ve also observed that some folks have found luck in connecting with other solo voyagers online through groups or forums where they have even been successful in sharing rooms - which can help to save on costs if that’s something you’re comfortable with doing. You’ll find some great first-hand experiences and stories shared by fellow adventurers on their own, or podcasts that really focus on the Disney Solo Magic of experiencing these places; I also highly recommend keeping up with the
Disney Parks Blog to stay on top of the latest news and offerings while you plan ahead for your next adventure!
Wishing you all the best on your future solo quests!
