Hiya Jeanie,
Welcome to planDisney! First, let me say, Congratulations on your little Mouseketeer! I just welcomed my little princess this summer, and Walt Disney World Resort was a huge part of our journey. There is no better place to celebrate, in my opinion. Before you arrive, don't forget to check out the
list of attractions that are not "momma safe." Ultimately you will want to consult your physician first, but there are a lot of bump-friendly rides (or you can do what I did and eat all the snacks).
There must be something about Magic Kingdom Park because gender reveals are very popular there. I have seen the video you mentioned, but I wanted to double-check that there was nothing prohibiting you from celebrating your Baby Mine in this way. According to the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, balloons are only not permitted at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park and lodge, ESPN Wide World of Sports, and the water parks. However, my new Cast Member friend Benedict verified that balloons that will release confetti or other objects are generally not permitted. I would hate for you all to bring the balloon with you and then not be allowed to bring it into the parks. Luckily Benedict reminded me of some magical alternatives for gender reveals. If you love the idea of balloons, you could ask a family member or even an available Cast Member to purchase a pink or blue balloon for you on Main Street, U.S.A., and then hide it in a bag. Then you could open the bag in front of Cinderella's Castle! Another idea is to go to the
Emporium Shop and pick out two items or outfits. Then enlist the help of a Cast Member to help you purchase the one you have designated to match the gender of your baby. Ask the Cast Member to box it up so you can't see it and then pay for it; after you have your box, make your way to Cinderella's Castle and open it! I love these ideas because they help you involve the heart of Walt Disney World Resort, its incredible Cast Members.
I'm sorry that you won't be able to do your original idea Jeanie, but hopefully, you like the ideas I have given you. If you enlist a Cast Member's help and they made your experience extra magical, don't forget that you can pay the Cast Member a
compliment through your My Disney Experience mobile app!
Happy Planning and Congratulations again,
Ashley F.
