love this forum thanks! we are visiting in may for my 2yo birthday cant wait - we have the DDP and know that each meal includes a non alcoholic beverage but what exactly does th at mean? if i need a refill is that included or is it extra?

    Dawn:

You've touched on one of my favorite hidden gems of the Disney Dining Plan: beverages.  But before I talk about some of the fun non-alcoholic choices, yes, refills on soft drinks, tea and coffee are free on the plan.

I love smoothies. I love slushes. I love shakes.  I love anything fun, fruity, or frozen.  And what I love the most is that Disney considers all of these under the umbrella of "non-alcholic beverages" you may order with your meals on the dining plan.  (You see, I'm the mom who, on the inside, is worrying the kids will beg for the $4 shake on the menu when we go out to eat, and with four kids, you're talking big bucks!)  But when we go to Disney on the dining plan, there's no guilt.  Best of all, I get to order also!  I always ask the waiter which drinks come with the plan and they're all-too-happy to let you know (afterall, you'll be paying a tip on that more-expensive beverage!) Get the most out of your plan and order the fun drinks!

The exception to this rule is the alcoholic beverage choices of wine and beer that you're given if you use the dining plan at any of the dinner shows: Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Mickey's Backyard Barbecue and the Spirit of Aloha Dinner.  Unlimited wine and beer are included in your two dining credits if you choose to imbibe.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
