I would love to do some fishing while my family is at the Park or before they get up and going in the morning. I will be staying at the Carribian Resort. I dont want to rent a boat just walk the bank , is that ok? Are some lakes ok and some off limits? I

    Hi Tim,

There are plenty of guests who do not that Walt Disney World does offer some pretty exciting opportunities for fishermen on vacation.  In addition to the guided catch-and-release fishing excursions you can book by calling (407) 939-BASS, there are also opportunities to do some good old fashioned pole fishing.  While Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort does not rent fishing poles, if you have your own with you then you may fish from the shore (not the dock) along Barefoot Bay before 11 am or after 5:30 pm.

Another resort known for its pole fishing is Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside.  There, the waterways of Ol' Man Island are stocked with catfish, bass, and bluegill.  You're almost certain to catch something there.  You can rent casting rods and purchase bait at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground if you wish to fish the canals there, too.

Hoping you get to experience the fun of catch-and-release fishing during your upcoming vacation!
