I would love to take my family horseback riding, but my other half whom is 6 ft 6 in. Tall is over your 250 pound limit, because he is so tall is there an exception, I did read you had some draft horses....I'll understand if not I was just curious?

    Hi Ingrid!

One of the things I love most about Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is the wide variety of recreational activities you can enjoy during your visit. Plus, with awesome food options and easy transportation from Magic Kingdom, this Disney Resort hotel is a hidden oasis at Walt Disney World Resort!

Horseback Riding is offered at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Guests participating must be over 48 inches tall and weigh under 250 pounds. This requirement is for the safety of both the riders and the horses, so unfortunately there aren't exceptions to the policy. However, there are still some other options for your husband to enjoy Walt Disney World Resort's horses. Your family can enjoy a Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride together through the trails of the resort or you can explore Tri-Circle-D Ranch, which houses the wide variety of breeds of different horses and ponies that live at the "Most Magical Place on Earth." My kids love exploring Tri-Circle-D Ranch and learning all about the individual horses and their history at Walt Disney World Resort!

If you are interested in other recreational activities during your visit to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, I highly recommend the Fishing Excursions. My family and I have taken two finishing excursions and we have loved our time as amateur anglers on Bay Lake! Feel free to come back to see us if you have additional questions as you continue preparing for your trip. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
