We LOVE Disney's amazing allergen standards! If I buy a Sip and Savor Pass (for Food & Wine Festival, Lunar New Year, etc.) with a severe dietary restriction (celiac), how will it work if a particular dish on the menu isn't safe for me to eat?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Matthew, and welcome back to planDisney!

This is a great question! As someone who also navigates the parks with dietary restrictions, I understand how worry can arise as you plan your vacation. Luckily, Disney does an amazing job in communicating to Guests what can be enjoyed based on their needs. My family and I recently purchased a Sip and Savor Pass during Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure, and I have great news for you!

Before completing your purchase of the Sip and Savor Pass, the Cast Member will typically ask if you would like to take a look at the festival’s Allergy-Friendly Menu. The menu outlines items available based on your particular allergy. The categories include: gluten/wheat, egg, fish/shellfish, milk, peanut, sesame, soy, and tree nut.

Based on your particular dietary restriction, you will see the number of food items that accommodate it. If the number of dishes doesn’t seem to be enough to make the most of the pass, you can decide before completing your purchase. Please keep in mind that there may be some non-alcoholic beverages that are allergy-friendly. So if there are limited food items available to you, you can always use the other tabs for beverages.

Bonus Tip: The lines for the marketplaces can become lengthy during festivals. Save time by ordering all of your items at one booth. You can order your Sip and Savor items and any other items that are offered at the booths. From there, you will receive a receipt, and you can go straight to each booth’s pick-up line rather than standing in the ordering line each time. During my most recent visit, my family and I used this strategy, and it saved us a headache!

Also, be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as the Sip and Savor passes can change from event to event.

Matthew, I hope this helps and that you have the most magical time during your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort. We are always happy to assist if you have any additional planning questions!

Sending you faith, trust, and pixie dust,
