I would love to take a disney cruise. I have a family of 6 and my daughter, husband and her 2 kids want to join us. I really would love to go on the New Fantasy. But due to the expense I just wanted an opinion on how the other 3 ships stand up in compariso

    Hi, Martie!

You are on the right track to planning a family vacation of a lifetime with Disney Cruise Line (DCL) -- there simply is no other who can even come close! I also have a family of 6, and I certainly understand the big decision to spend resources on one experience. I can honestly tell you that we have never regretted one moment or one penny spent on a Disney cruise.

As far as comparing the 4 ships which will make up the DCL fleet, I'll outline their assets for you, but it'll be like describing each of my 4 children:

Like my first child, the Disney Magic was the first in the fleet and still charms and delights with beautiful details, classic entertainment and comfortable accommodations. True to the leader in my family, the Disney Magic is the first to leave home and ventures the greatest distance. For itineraries including New York City, Canada, New England and even Europe, the Disney Magic will show you the world.

My 2nd child is very much like the Disney Wonder with the familiarity of her siblings yet a personality all her own. The Disney Wonder takes on a new path boasting itineraries in the Mexican Riviera in the colder months and charting Alaska and the Pacific Coast in the summer. Adventure awaits with the Disney Wonder!

When the Disney Dream arrived on the scene, the ship reminded me of my 3rd child who took the best of the family to the the next level. Amazing technology and innovative design are hallmarks of this new addition which presently ventures in the Bahamas. The Disney Dream makes "wow" the norm!

Like my youngest, the Disney Fantasy has yet to sail but promises to be oh-so similar to the closest sibling with promises of sailing close by in the Caribbean. The Disney Fantasy will bring a fresh perspective on what makes all the others so wonderful!

You see, you really can't go wrong with any decision. Blessings on you as you decide. Bon voyage!
