Hello! We love the casual vibe at poly. What is the beach/yahet club like? Is it similar? Is everything close by? Having a hard time deciding. Really enjoy watching fireworks & movies on beach. Very relaxing. Have DS 9 & 13. Thx!

    Danelle,

You are choosing among two of my favorite resorts on property. They are very similar in some ways, yet very different in others. The amenities, room layout, and price are very similar, while the theming and location are different (but not in a negative way). The Polynesian and Yacht and Beach Club both offer the movies on the beach in the evenings and both have really amazing pools. Stormalong Bay is the pool area at Yacht and Beach and is centered around the shipwreck which has a waterslide surrounded by sand-bottomed pools and a lazy river.

The location of the Yacht and Beach Club is very convenient to Epcot, as it is just a 5-10 minute walk from the Beach Club side to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. This entrance is tucked in between the United Kingdom and France pavilions in World Showcase. I absolutely love entering Epcot this way as there are almost never lines and you don't have to wait for transportation. However, if you prefer not to walk, you can always catch the boat at the Yacht and Beach Club Marina to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You would need to take the bus to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom (each being about a 20-25 minute bus ride).

The Polynesian has always seemed a bit more relaxed and laid back to me, but again that is just my opinion. The Yacht and Beach Club seem to feel a bit more crowded to me, but a fun resort nonetheless!

I hope this helps you choose wisely so that your family can have the best and most magical trip possible!
