Love your advice! Q: DM & I staying POFQ 8/14-8/21 DxDP w/ 5 day base tickets. Could we use the % off of resort stay being offered right now and another promotion if it becomes avail? (i.e. free dining) Which promo is the best deal? Thanks! :D

    Hi Ellen!

Thank you very much for the compliment.  I really enjoy answering guest questions.  You can get more information on the current promotions here which as of today are good through August 14th, 2010.  However, based on the current economic conditions, I would be really surprised if another promotion did not come out for the fall.

Historically, "free dining" is the big promotion for the fall, but not the only one.  In late August in 2009, for example, Disney offered "room only" discounts, package discounts, and "free dining".  Of course there is no guarantee that Disney will offer any discounts this year.

Unfortunately, you can only use one discount on a reservation so you would have to do the math to determine which discount is best for your party.  Personally I'm a big fan of the "room only" discounts, especially because the dining plan doesn't always work for my family.  However, you can get a rough idea of how much money you would save with the dining plan (free or otherwise) by looking at the menu for various Table Service and Quick Service restaurants.  The independent website AllEars.Net does a great job keeping their menus up to date.

Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
