I would love to be able to take a shower and get ready before my dinner reservations at a park other than the one my resort is at. How much earlier should I leave my resort before my dinner reservation time?

Hello Samantha!  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I often leave the parks in the afternoon to head back to the resort to freshen up before dinner, too. Without knowing where you are staying and where you will be dining, I'll say allow yourself up to an hour and a half of travel to get from the resort to the restaurant.  Because you will have to go through bag check, if carrying one, and the entrance line, I always like to have a little cushion  If you are a little earlier, then you can take your time walking to the restaurant stopping for pictures along the way.  However, your travel time could be less if you are staying at a monorail resort and are dining in the Magic Kingdom.  I would give yourself more like 45 minutes to an hour then.

I hope this gives you some idea.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.
    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
