Brittany! I am so glad you've found us here at planDisney. I have been on
pins and needles waiting for someone to ask a question about my favorite topic:
Disney Pin Trading! I love collecting, trading, and
attending events with other pin devotees, and my friends know me as the "Disney pins guy." I am ready to put my expertise to the test regarding your question, so let's get to it.
The official Disney Pin Trading Guidelines say that only official Disney pins can be traded, including officially licensed Disney pins from companies or brands like the one you described in your question. The main criteria is that the pin must have a "©Disney" marking on the back of the pin. While I have never had a problem trading this brand of officially licensed Disney pins at the theme parks and resorts, the Cast Member you are trading with may refuse a trade at their discretion. If your trade is turned down, no worries! There are tons of trading boards and Cast Members with lanyards and pin pouches all across the resort area. You're sure to find a willing trader for your pins!
As you are making trades, keep these guidelines in mind:
- Guests may trade a maximum of 2 pins per Cast Member or trading board, per day
- Monies, gifts, vouchers or receipts may not be exchanged or used to trade for a pin
- When trading with a Cast Member, Guests should offer a pin that is not currently displayed on the Cast Member's lanyard or trading board
Make sure you check out
Disney's Pin Traders at Disney Springs to see if there are any pins that catch your eye. You can even see the Featured Pin of the Day that is selected by the Pin Trader of the Day! My daughter was honored with this title once and chose a meditating Rafiki pin.
Brittany, I hope this helps you plan your pin trades for your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort! I shop for officially licensed pins when I'm away from Disney World to build up my available traders for my next vacation, so maybe you'll find some of my treasures on a trading board someday. Happy trading!
Stay magical,
Scott
