Hi there, Sarah! Welcome back to planDisney! I’m so happy to connect with you regarding your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World next month. It is surprisingly convenient and simple to have a vehicle with you while visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth. Especially during these unprecedented times, people do appreciate the privacy and safety that this provides them. In fact, if you are a registered Guests of a
Disney Resort Hotel, standard
Theme Park parking is complimentary!
As you mention, each Theme Park also has a Preferred parking category, which allows you to park in the lots closest to the entrances to the Theme Parks (at
Epcot,
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and
Disney's Animal Kingdom) and closest to the Ticket & Transportation Center when visiting Magic Kingdom Park. As you can appreciate on the map on the
Parking page, the closest lots are Jafar and Aladdin. I spoke with
Guest Services regarding your question, and they let me know what while they do not designate a specific lot as Preferred, you would simply need to follow the signs upon entry and rest assured that you will be parking as close as it is possible to be. If you choose Preferred parking for your visit to Magic Kingdom, you will not have access to (or need!) tram services and will be able to make the short walk to the Disney Monorail or the
Ferry boat trip to the front gate of
Magic Kingdom Park.
Sarah, I hope that this information helps you make the best decision regarding Parking during your next vacation! With a trip just around the corner, please visit the
Know Before You Go pages for all the latest information on the most recent changes and policies in place to secure the health and well-being of all Guests and Cast Members. Please return to see us anytime we can help with your magical plans!
See ya real soon!
