Ahoy, Michaela!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It's so lovely hearing from a fellow Disney Cruise Line lover from Illinois! There are so many fun things to do in and around Chicago, but sailing with Captain Mickey is my happy place. I can't wait for you to step onboard and enjoy your upcoming adventure at sea!
I'm happy to assist you with this very important question! My son takes a lot of prescription medications, as well. I completely understand how traveling with all the bottles can be a nuisance. Disney Cruise Line does ask Guests to keep their prescription medications in their original containers/bottles. Also, be sure to keep them in your carry-on luggage, not checked bags. I also suggest bringing a few extra days worth of doses for each medication in the unlikely event that your cruise is delayed returning home.
It's also recommended for you to bring a copy of each prescription you're taking, making sure the type, strength and dosage information is on each one. If one of your medications gets lost somehow, the
physician onboard may be able to supply the medication at an additional cost if it's in stock onboard! If it's not available onboard, the physician may even be able to provide a substitute medication for you. We always bring a copy of my son's prescriptions in the off chance something crazy happens and we're in need of his medications. Having them gives us peace of mind throughout our voyage!
Michaela, I'm sorry you'll have to bring your pill bottles along with you, but as soon as you arrive in your stateroom, you can safely stow them away and have a care-free voyage to paradise! If you have any other questions, please come back and visit us again!
