Lot of information so not sure where to start! My requirement is to have trip from Atlanta to the theme park for 5ish days with my family (wife + 5yo son). Kindly direct us with a guide that I can follow for booking accommodation and all the theme parks.

    Hi there, Subhabrata,

Thanks so much for bringing your question to PlanDisney! With so many things to see and do at Disneyland Resort, I can understand how it can be hard to know where to start!

I would begin by visiting the Offers and Discounts page on the Disneyland website to see if any offers interest you. There is currently a Kids Special Ticket Offer, as well as hotel discounts that may be relevant for your trip.

There are three spectacular Disneyland Resort hotels, as well as a number of off-property Good Neighbor hotels. Since you have a five-year-old, I recommend the Disneyland Hotel. With it’s tributes to the history of Disneyland, the delicious food at Goofy’s Kitchen, and the fun pool, the Disneyland Hotel is my kids’ favorite hotel! Keep in mind that the 2 monorail waterslides will be closed for refurbishment through March 31st. If waterslides are a priority for you, I suggest either staying at one of the other two Disneyland Resort hotels or ask a Cast Member upon check-in if you can be shuttled to the pools at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

If you choose to stay at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels, then you can add theme park tickets to your stay while you are reserving your room. I like Park Hopper Tickets, which allows Guests to explore both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park each day. Currently, Guests can enter the second theme park after 11:00 AM and then they are free to hop between parks as often as they want for the rest of the day (subject to availability). When purchasing your tickets, you will also be directed to the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar, where you will select which park you want to begin each day in.

After you have booked your hotel and purchased your theme park tickets, I recommend reviewing the list of restaurants at Disneyland Resort and making advanced dining reservations. Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, and popular dining locations book up quickly. I usually make one table service dining reservation each day to give us some downtime and enjoy a relaxing meal. Some of my family’s favorite restaurants are Lamplight Lounge, Goofy’s Kitchen, and Cafe Orleans.

Before your visit, I also suggest downloading the Disneyland Mobile app. I use it to look at maps, attractions, and dining options ahead of time. While there, I can view wait times, purchase Disney Genie+, and mobile order food, like my favorite jungle skewers at Bengal Barbecue or Daisy’s Goody-Goody Donuts at Café Daisy.

Subhabrata, I’m glad that you reached out to us at planDisney. If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to me directly!
