Hello, AnnaMarie,
That is a great question about a ticket that is a great deal. As you are aware, the terms for the
2023 Southern California resident weekday ticket offer indicate that “proof of eligible residency, including valid government-issued photo ID, is required for purchase and admission.” For some added context, the 2022 Southern California ticket offer had slightly different wording in its terms. It said, “a valid government-issued photo ID showing an address within a valid ZIP code is required for entry into the park.” Because of that, my advice to Guests in situations similar to yours is to try to get into the nearest California Department of Motor Vehicles to request a replacement ID. That way, you will have evidence of the necessary residency within Southern California ZIP codes 90000-93599 or Northern Baja California postal codes 21000-22999.
If the nearest DMV location doesn’t have available appointments soon, I recommend visiting as a walk-in. The DMV website even has estimated wait times for walk-in patrons. Hey! That kind of reminds me of the standby wait time estimates for attractions that are listed in the
Disneyland mobile app. Hmm. Standby queue, something like
Disney PhotoPass, and
Lightning Lane-like return times? Now, if only the DMV had something like Audio Tales and
Disney PhotoPass Lenses, they might convince us that they are attempting to create something like a dystopian version of the
Disney Genie+ service. Ha!
All kidding aside, my main desire is to help you have the most magical experience possible during your visit to the Disneyland Resort. So I highly recommend applying for a replacement ID and obtaining at least a temporary ID. Even without a replacement ID, I’m sure there will still be a way for you to enjoy a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. The worst-case scenario I can imagine is that you might either need to
reschedule your theme park reservation or possibly need to upgrade your park ticket. And if you aren’t able to get at least a valid temporary ID from the DMV, I do still recommend taking along your passport or other valid photo ID. That is especially the case if you plan to
purchase adult beverages during your visit.
Thanks for bringing your question to us here at planDisney, AnnaMarie. If there is anything else we can help answer, I hope you won’t hesitate to stop by again.
T-T-F-N!
