Hi Lori, My wife and I are planning on spending "marathon weekend" at Disney this January. With a lot of action at WWoS (expo) and Start/Finish at Epcot, where would you recommend we stay? Is there a "host" hotel? Thanks!

    Hi there!

Some of my favorite trips with my husband are for runDisney race weekends.  In fact, I recently posted about it on the runDisney blog.

The good news is that, during marathon weekend, all of the Disney Resorts are host resorts.  This means there will be bus transportation to and from all of the resorts for all race weekend events.  It makes staying on property very convenient.

My husband and I are partial to the Boardwalk Inn Resort and the Beach or Yacht Club Resorts.  We love staying close enough to walk into Epcot, and we also love the Boardwalk area with restaurants and night life. These are considered Deluxe Resorts, so they are more expensive, but generally our race weekend stays are only two or three nights, so we will splurge!   You can walk back to those resorts after the race, but only if you have admission into Epcot for that day.

I hope this helps answer your question!  Please let me know if I can help you in any other ways.
