Hi Lori, My husband and I are planning a WDW trip with our 7, 5, and 3 yo and my mom. We plan to run the Wine and Dine 1/2 marathon and my mom will watch our children. We don't want to lose time on a bus. Where should we stay? Accommodations for 6?

    Hi Lauren!
You've made a great choice!  The Wine and Dine Half Marathon is my favorite race and we love taking our family trips during that time of year.

My favorite place to stay for the Wine and Dine is at the Boardwalk Inn or Boardwalk Villas.  They are located close enough to Epcot and Hollywood Studios to walk right to them (or take the ferry boats), and use the buses to all other Disney Parks and Downtown Disney.  Plus, you have the Boardwalk area with restaurants and shops to explore.  (The Beach Club and Yacht Club are also great for the same reason, as they are all in the same area)

You will want to stay at one of the runDisney host resorts.  These resorts offer buses to and from all race weekend activities.  This transportation is a huge convenience.  The Wine and Dine Half actually ends at Epcot, so you can walk back to your room after the race and party.  The 2014 host resorts have not been released yet.  The Boardwalk usually is one, but you will want to double check. You will find this on the Travel section of the runDisney website.

The Boardwalk Villas are actually Disney Vacation Club properties (but anyone can book them).  My family usually stays in a one-bedroom villa.  We like it because there is a family room (with a pull-out bed), full kitchen, and separate bedroom.  There are also two-bedrooms available that would be more comfortable for six people.  Here is a great link with helpful advice for booking rooms for parties of five or more.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
