Hi Lori, i have a 5 year old and 6 year old who are interested in the kid one mile run. Can I run with them? How crowded are the parks during the marathon weekend? is this a bad weekend to go if we are primarily interested in visiting the parks?

    Hi Anna!

The Mickey Mile is truly one of my favorite races!  The kids are so excited to be "real runners" just like the adults!

You can run along with them for the one mile.  Some kids run it on their own, and some parents will stay a little bit back from their kids so they feel independent running by themselves, but also know that their mom or dad is close by.  It's whatever your child feels comfortable with.

The parks are usually very pleasant during race weekends.  Usually the Saturday of race weekend will be the most crowded, and Magic Kingdom will be the most crowded park.  You can find crowd prediction charts at  I use this site for every trip and it is very accurate.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
