Hi Lori! Trying a Galloway training plan for my first half! Wondering how you keep track of your walk/run intervals. Is there an app for my phone? Just use a stop watch? What works best? Excited to give it a try and run a Disney race! Thanks!

Hi Katie!  I think you will love the Galloway method!  It is perfect for everyone, because you can change it to fit your needs.

I have two ways to do it.  I have an app on my phone called "Interval Run".  I use it sometimes.  My favorite way, though, is "old school".  I bought a Timex Ironman watch (make sure it says it has interval timing).  You can set the intervals on the watch to beep when it's time to change from walk to run and vice versa.  That is much easier than constantly looking down at your watch and trying to figure it out in your head!  I ordered mine from Walmart.com, but I am sure you can find them different places.  (again, make sure it specifically says that it has interval timing on it)

Jeff Galloway also sells an interval training device.  It clips on your shorts, and works the same way.  My friend has one of these, and they work really well too.  It is for sale on his online store at www.jeffgalloway.com.  I do like that it also vibrates, and at $20, it is a great buy!

It really depends on which technology you feel the most comfortable with.  If you Google "interval run app", you will actually find several options.  The "Interval Run" app just happens to be the one I have.

    Good luck with your training!
