    Lori, I just registered for the WDW 10K. Couldn't pass this new distance up! How much time do I have to book a resort before they book up? Also, can you tell me about the logistics of the day. I also purchased the after race breakfast for me and the family

    Hi Kim!

    Congratulations on getting in the 10K!  That race sold out really fast!

    The resorts will vary in getting full.  Generally, the Value Resorts (particularly the new Art of Animation) will fill up first.  I don't think you will have any trouble finding a room, no matter how late you wait, it just may not be at the resort that you would like the most.  You could always book one now, and then if you change your mind on resorts, switch your reservation to a new resort.  Most reservations only require a small deposit, and won't charge you to change if you do it well in advance.

    For your race day, you will get on a bus at your resort that will take you to the starting area for the 10K.  I prefer to get on one of the earliest buses to avoid waiting in line and getting anxious.  You will get detailed instructions on the bus schedule before the race. 

    The breakfast will be near the finish line area, and lasts from 7a.m.-9a.m. that morning.  It is served buffet style but there will be some tables and chairs for you to relax in.

    When you are finished with breakfast, you can take the runDisney buses back to your resort, or you can take the Disney bus system or monorails from Epcot to visit the Disney Parks that day.  (theme park admission would be required and purchased separately)

    I think this sounds like such a fun event, and I can't wait to get a Minnie Mouse medal!
