Hi Lori, The race character picture information was very helpful. When using your own camera, are there cast members there to take the picture for you? How do you carry your camera during the race? Any other running tips or strategies for during the race

Hi Robin!  I'm glad it helped!

There will be some cast members along the course at the more popular photo stops, but not at every single one.  Generally, runners will take pictures for those in front of them.  (you will take it for the person in front of you, the person behind you will take yours, etc.)  I've never had any trouble finding someone to take my pictures.  Spectators are usually glad to help too!  I always grab a spectator or race volunteer to get my photo when I am in front of the castle on Main Street USA.  One of the best things about runDisney runners is that everyone supports each other.  You will make new friends along the route and find yourself cheering for a total stranger with an inspirational story!

Sometimes I carry my camera in my hand, but that can be a pain.  If it's not cold enough for a jacket with a pocket, I will stick my camera in my race belt.  (I prefer the ifitness brand belt--www.ifitnessinc.com)  I have one belt that has two zippered pouches, so I put my nutrition in one belt, and my camera in the other!

My biggest advice for the race is to do a "dress rehearsal".  Eat what you plan to eat the day before and the morning of the race, wear what you plan to wear during the race, and carry what you plan to carry on a practice run a few weeks before the race.  You may find that the adorable shorts you bought to wear actually rub you raw after a few miles.  Or, you might discover that you need to eat more for breakfast than you thought.

Other than that, remember to HAVE FUN!  You're going to be at Disney World!

Let me know if I can help you in any other way!
