Hi Lori! We are planning our first RunDisney weekend at WDW and have a question about the temp/humidity. We are from the SFBay Area were we do not have higher humidity like Orlando. How does this affect the 'feel' of the ambiant temperature?

    Hi Jeff!

Congratulations on planning for your first runDisney event at Walt Disney World!  I know you will love it, and will soon be planning your second, and third, etc...

Well, this is a tough question.  The humidity can be a big factor during races.  RunDisney is aware of that, and that is why most events are planned during more mild temperature times for Orlando.  I have never had an issue with the humidity there, other than this year's Tower of Terror 10-Miler.  Even with it being a night race, the humidity levels were very high.  RunDisney is actually moving the race to October (from September) to deal with that issue.   The Tower of Terror race just happened to be on a weekend that had lots of rainstorms, which made the humidity higher.  Obviously, that is impossible to predict!

The January and February races are usually perfect.  They start early in the morning (when it can be quite chilly) and usually are over before any type of heat and humidity issues arise.

I hope this helps!  Good luck with your training and let me know if you have any other questions!
