Hi Lori, not really a runDisney question but more of a general pre trip conditioning question. We arrive June 4. If we start a walking schedule now do we have enough time to build the stamina needed for 5 days? No kids this time so we will moving fast. THX

HI Paula!  That's actually a great question!  Definitely one that people may not often think about.  A five day trip to Walt Disney World will definitely include a LOT of walking!  I am not sure what your physical activity level is right now, but I do think you will be fine by June.  I would probably try to get up to a mile or two of walking at a comfortable pace.  Keep in mind that although you may be walking quickly, there will be a lot of stop- time when you are eating, riding rides, standing in line, etc.  I often find that when I go without kids, I actually slow my pace down a bit and take in some of the Disney magic that my boys don't really care that much about just yet.  I like to read the windows at Magic Kingdom that are filled with tributes to Disney legends.  I love browsing through all of the shops at each country pavilion at Epcot.  And of course, I like to try some of the different foods that my boys won't!
So, yes, it's a great idea to get in shape before embarking on a Disney adventure.  It will make the trip more enjoyable if you are not dead-tired and aching each night.  However, also keep in mind that there is so much to explore and see all throughout the Disney World property, that you don't want to make it a race!  Enjoy your trip.  Maybe after you do this training, you will want to sign up for a runDisney event!  They are really special!
