Hi Lori! Last year I ran the Everest Challenge and loved it! This year my 13-year old son will be running with me. How does it work if you run as a team? Do we need to stay together through the race and finish at the same time? Thanks!

Hi Denise!  I ran the Expedition Everest Challenge with my son last year and we had a blast!  My older son ran with my sister-in-law and they totally beat us!

Here is the official runDisney answer to your question:

Yes. Team members must start and finish the 5K adventure run together and must also start and finish the scavenger hunt and cross the finish line together. Team trekkers will start in the same wave. Wave assignments will be on the race bib.

I'm not sure if you were worried about your son keeping up with you or vice versa, but I think you guys will have a great time!  The race is very laid back and fun, so just enjoy your time together with your son!  I hope to see you there with mine!

Let me know if you have any other questions.
