Hi Lori! I'm a beginning runner and hope to run the 2014 Half Marathon. I saw in your bio that you do your short runs on the treadmill using the Galloway method. How do you time walk breaks on the treadmill? I have read a ton and can't figure out how.

    Hi Ashley!  Great question!

I actually use a watch that has interval timers on it when I do my treadmill training.  Mine is a Timex Ironman, and I found it at Walmart.  You just want to make sure it says "interval timing" in the features.

You can set the intervals to beep at different times and put them on repeat.  So, I will set interval 1 to 3 minutes, and Interval 2 to 1 minute.  That way it beeps every time I need to change from run to walk and vice versa.

If you have an iPhone, there are also some apps on there you can use.  "Simple Interval Timer" is a free one that you can set to your desired intervals and it will beep and vibrate when it's time to change.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions!
