Hi Stacy! Wow! The Goofy Challenge is quite an accomplishment. I can definitely see why you guys want to be there to cheer him on!
The buses for runners and spectators will run from 3 a.m- 4 a.m. and then from 7 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. on Saturday for the half marathon. On Sunday, they will run from 3-4 a.m., and then from 7 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. for the full marathon. They stop running them for a couple of hours for the start of the races, then resume again for spectators that didn't want to get over there that early. Be sure to check this information on the
Disney Marathon website (under the tab "PLAN") as it is always subject to change. You will also receive a booklet with final instructions before the race weekend.
The buses will take you to the race starting area (in the Epcot parking lot). From there, you can take the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center, and then switch monorails to get to Magic Kingdom. The runners go through Magic Kingdom at mile 5.3 during both races. This is my favorite place to watch! You won't need a ticket to get into Magic Kingdom that morning, but if you wish to watch the runners at any other park, you will need a ticket to get in those as they happen later in the race once park hours have begun.
Please let me know if you have any other questions! Tell your husband good luck on the Goofy!!
