Lori - my husband, kids (daughter will be 5, son will be 1 1/2) and I will be at Disney World for the Princess 1/2 and other fun from 2/22/2013-3/1/2013. We have not done a meal plan before. What do you recommend?

Hi Donna!  I think it's great that you are making a vacation out of doing something healthy for yourself.  It's a wonderful way to set an example of a healthy lifestyle for your kids.

The Disney Dining plan is great if you plan to use it effectively.  We generally do the dining plan because we like to have character meals and other sit-down services at least once a day on our trips.  If you plan to make advanced dining reservations and use up all of your table and counter-service credits, then it is a great deal, you will save close to 30% off of regular price.  If you don't want to have a lot of table services, you can do the quick-service dining plan.  It's still a good deal and you will save money on counter-service meals.

The only time we don't do a dining plan is if we are there for a really quick trip and know we will spend all of our time racing around to our favorite attractions.  Since you have an extended trip planned, I definitely think you will have time for lots of dining and you will be pleased with the dining plan.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you have any other questions as you plan for your trip!
