Hi Lori I've heard so many good things about runDisney events that I decided to run myself. I figured I'd start out with the 5K during next January's Marathon Weekend. It's been 10 years since I since I have done any running. Any training advise for me?

Hi Anthony! Congratulations to you for deciding to take up running again!  Marathon weekend is tons of fun and it is very inspirational for all runners.  You will instantly be hooked on running Disney!  My recommendation is to take it slow.  You have plenty of time to train and the last thing you want to do is get injured!  Disney has an official trainer named Jeff Galloway.  I LOVE his training method and training plans.  His website is www.jeffgalloway.com.  He promotes a run/walk/run method that is great for runners of all levels and promotes staying healthy and injury-free.  Definitely build your way up to the 3.1 miles.  I also suggest signing up for some local 5K's later on this year to get a "race day" feel.  It will make you less nervous when it is time for the Disney race.  If you have any other questions about planning for your first runDisney event, please get back with me on here!
